Multi-purpose, elastic, single-component polyurethane adhesive sealant, can be applied using a gun. Cures through reacting with moisture in the air to form a high-performance compound that is permanently elastic, weatherproof and resistant to ageing.
  • Seals and bonds at the same time.

  • Permanent elasticity; adapts to movement of the joint by ±25 %.

  • Easy to apply with excellent consistency.

  • Good thixotropy, does not run.

  • Resistant to shocks and impacts.

  • Vibration- and sound-damping properties.

  • Excellent adhesion without primer on all typical construction and industrial products.

  • Elastic bonding between metal, plastic, glass and other materials.

  • Does not stain. Neutral behaviour, does not attack the surface of the materials.

  • Good resistance to ageing, weather, cleaning agents and sea water.

  • Can be painted over with most water- or solvent-based paints (preliminary testing is recommended).

Application area

Versatile, high-quality, elastic adhesive sealant, designed for elastic bonding and sealing applications, including between different materials, in industrial construction and assembly, automotive industry, shipping and maritime sector, where a strong, flexible rubber bond or strong elastic adhesive is required. Suitable for sealing joints in vertical and horizontal applications, replaces the use of rivets and mechanical fasteners, seals metal ceilings and gutters.

Instructions
  • The surfaces to be treated must be clean, dry and free of dust and grease.

  • This product has very good adhesion properties without the need for a primer on most common construction products. Because of this, it is not necessary to use primer if the surface to be sealed is properly prepared. However certain surfaces such as brick, natural stone, plastics, paints, coatings and other treated surfaces can often be difficult to bond. Due to the unpredictable nature of these substrates, a preliminary test is recommended.

  • Prefabricated panels using demoulding agents other than polyethylene film must be sandblasted or mechanically abraded and free of dust.

  • Recommended application temperature: 15 °C to 25 °C.

  • For easier use or for use in cold conditions, we recommend storing the material at approximately 25 °C before use.

  • To ensure the free movement of the sealant in the joints, it is imperative that the sealant does not adhere to the bottom of the joint; to correctly seal the joint, a closed-cell polyethylene strip (joint backer rod) must be fitted at the correct depth.

  • If necessary, apply a suitable primer to the sides of the joint, taking into account the waiting time to prevent trapped solvent from creating bubbles in the uncured sealant in the case of rising temperatures.

  • For optimal performance, the sealant must be applied to the joint when the groove of the joint is at the midway point of its designated expansion and contraction.

  • Apply the sealant to the joint, making sure that it is in full contact with the sides of the joint and with the backer rod at the bottom.

  • Maintain a constant flow of sealant and avoid overlapping layers to prevent trapped air.

  • Finishing work must be completed before the skin has formed.

  • Can be painted over. The paint must be pre-tested.

  • Care must be taken when using alcohol or alkyl resin, as this may interfere with the curing process of the sealant and reduce the drying time of the paint itself.

  • The hardness and thickness of the paint film can affect the elasticity of the sealant and cause the paint film to crack.

  • Do not cure in the presence of cured silicone sealants.

  • Avoid contact with solvent-based cleaners during curing.

  • Avoid trapping air when applying the sealant.

  • As the product cures through reacting with moisture, allow sufficient exposure to air.

  • Bonded elements may require additional support or clamping during the curing period.
